The Music of Bobby More The Music of Bobby More

‘Bobby is an excellent accordionist and a composer of great renown who has over the years written an extensive repertoire of fine Scottish tunes that would rival any of the Scottish writers’
Bill Brown, Operations Manager of Channel 5 TV

The above statement is an excerpt from the foreword of ‘The Music of Bobby More’ written by Bill Brown. Bill presents Scottish and Irish Radio programmes in the London area and owns one of the largest collections of recorded Scottish music in the world.

The book contains 41 dance tunes and three songs all composed by Bobby More, as well as some entertaining anecdotes.

There is a fascinating account of the events surrounding the 'Big Aberdeen Bass' used in the beginning of Scottish Dance Music, which was made for the great Neil Gow.

Also included in the book is the script, as researched and recorded on Bobby's unique album 'The Crimson Crown', relating to the story of Scotland and those who were associated with its beautiful ancient Crown. Starting with Columba, an explanation is provided as to perhaps why the great disaster of Culloden occurred.

The book has been produced in response to repeated requests from Musicians all over the world, who would like to enjoy playing the tunes. This book has kindly been produced by Susan and John Gaughan.

Each of these tunes are regularly played by Bobby and the Band and are featured in the 'More than Welcome' album series.

Available direct from Bobby More, prices are £13 (inc. P+P). The book is also available from selected retail outlets (priced independently).

n.b. The new Bobby More tunes, written after this book was published are recorded on Albums 8 + 9 and will be available shortly as a supplement book containing the 14 new tunes.
